Pinterest: Want to Wear

When it comes to clothing, I'm not really a jeans and t-shirts kinds of girl. I prefer pretty things- feminine things like dresses, skirts, and flowy pants are my favorite. I like a nice mix of brights, neutrals, and blacks and prefer a classic sort of look (I've never been the trendy type).

I have a pinterest board dedicated to things that I want to wear. Some (well, most) of them are totally impractical and totally never going to be on my body (well, unless I grow 8-9 inches, turn 18 again, and become a runway model), but that doesn't mean I can't dream, right?

Anyway, here are some of the more realistic things I've pinned...
I'm obsessed with maxi skirts and recently purchased a black one that I know will be a spring/summer staple. And did you know that J Crew makes cashmere hoodies?
How deliciously comfy does that sound? If I had one, I'd wear it daily.

I need an occasion for each of these dresses. Isn't that green delightful?

This is cute and comfy, which is my favorite fashion combination.

I need this. About that fact, there can be no argument.
I really like pairing casual/novelty t-shirts with skirts for a shabby chic sort of look.

That backless dress would be perfect for Calli's upcoming bachelorette party, don't you think?
And the heart sweater? Adorable.

I'm obsessed with this red/white/blue dress and would love it for summer.
And Olivia P. is a little annoying but nobody can say she doesn't have great style.
The girl always looks amazing (which just makes her all that more annoying).

I've been obsessed with this dress for ages.
(It may sound masochistic but I love the movie Atonement.)
The color is amazing and Keira Knightley is stunning.
(I watched Pride and Prejudice over the weekend and was, as usual, blown away by her performance.)

These both look too comfy to resist.
I'd take that henley in ten colors if I could.

Okay, these two are a bit out of my league but gah, they are pretty.
The black is Alberta Ferretti (pre-fall 2012).
The pink is Elie Saab (spring 2012).

Pocket dresses are awesome. The end.

Double Tutu Today

It's high heels and double tutus at our house today and I love it. I do, however, feel a bit underdressed. Harper is all fancied up and I'm rocking yoga pants and a Wonder Woman t-shirt. At least we are sporting equally messy bed heads.

Pinterest Giggles

It's Monday.
I think we all deserve a laugh...

You know you feel the same way.

My dear friend Whitney is a Ryan G. fan.
I make sure to pin lots of "Hey Girls" for her.
If you love Ryan Gosling (which I do... ever since his MMC days),
It's the original "Hey Girl" site and it's delightful.

If you've ever been a music major, this photo will bring back great memories.
Every music major is totally awesomely awesome (at least according to them).

Seriously, I can't handle song lyric statuses.
Chances are, if you post Airplane, Someone Like You, or Grenade lyrics in your status,
I will either delete you as a friend or hide all of your future fb activity.
The same goes for almost every song you can think of.

Ha!

Double ha!

The other day, Kenzie and I were getting food and she ordered a Fanta.
I wasn't aware that Fanta was even a thing around here.
It just makes me think of trips to Japan and Europe, where Fanta reigns supreme in the soda world.
True story.

Colty and I love the Y U NO guy.
He's an ugly sucker, that's for sure... but oh boy, he's funny, too.

Making fun of Twilight is among my favorite activities.
I must admit that this.... is me.
Sometimes, I'm a drunken Snow White.

This is another Whit pin.
And another.

I don't know how we survive the first world.

I'm sorry. I just can't help myself.
In all fairness, I think that K. Stew is gorgeous.
It's Bella I can't stand.

Ha ha ha ha.

Have you checked out The Dailies at HelloGiggles?
They always make me so happy.

This is only funny if you read it like the Tag Team song.
And truthfully, it's better than the Tag Team song.

Pinterest: A Hair Affair

I'm so in love with so many different hair styles/cuts/colors on pinterest right now. I just wish I could try them all at once. Seriously...
I'm obsessed.

I love this style and color- Kate B. always has amazing hair.

Zooey is perfect. She does bangs better than anyone I know.
Not that I actually know Zooey Deschanel or anything.
I just follow her on twitter, facebook, and I stalk her website, HelloGiggles.
Basically, I know her but she doesn't know me.
I'm pretty sure she doesn't even know I exist (sigh).

I do. Every day of my life.
The messier, the better, I say.

Gah... I love this color.

This will be my next color.
I want to look more classic for summer (and Calli's wedding).
So I'm going to go with a less dramatic melt.

I love this. It's messy and pretty and perfect.

This is lovely- perfect for Calli's wedding this June.

I LOVE this ombre. Love it.

Colt is out of town tonight.
He's on an ice-fishing all-nighter (cold much?).
So, it's just the Harps and me.
We've been watching movies and eating ice cream straight from the carton.
Now we are going to eat a really unhealthy dinner.
Then I'm going to put an olive oil treatment on my hair and an aspirin mask on my face.
Then I'm going to take a long shower.
Then I'm going to snuggle Harper to sleep.
Then, I'm going to watch Pride and Prejudice.
It's going to be the perfect evening.

Pinterest, The Harper Edition

Yesterday, I cleared my old iPhone, loaded it with kid apps, videos, photos, and music, and gave it to Harper. She loves it and has been having so much fun playing games (Tozzle is her favorite... thanks to Danni for the recommendation!), drawing, and watching videos of herself (the little narcissist).

I love it because it keeps her grubby little hands (believe it or not, my child often has grubby hands) off of my new phone and it's super educational for her.

I never imagined that she'd have her own phone at 2-years-old but really don't think this one counts as it doesn't have service. It's more like an iTouch, which I also never thought my toddler would have, but whatev.

Speaking of my cute/smart/sweet/totally awesome child...
Here are some of my favorite Harper Jane pins:

Totally presh, isn't it?
(Confession: I can't read this without crying.)

This playroom is to die for.
It's pretty and magical and organized and fun- everything a play space should be.
I'm hoping to create something at least 1/100th as cool as this for Harper when we move.

I love everything about this.
It will be the perfect way to preserve all of Harper's priceless creations.
I already know that there will be many of them.
A child as awesome as Harper can't help but create masterpieces.

Cute and healthy... the perfect snack for my perfect child.

Harper's book collection is out of control right now.
I've been looking into ideas for book storage in our new house and I love this little display.
I'd like to place two or three together to create an entire wall of books.

Harps needs a teepee with a chandelier. The end.

Sushi sandwiches? Yes, please (for Harper and me).

Forgive me for the cheesiness.
I'm a mom.
It's my job to be cheesy once in a while.

This is wonderful.
I love things like this and the shelves above because they can be moved.
I like to mix things up for Harper by rearranging her room/play area on a regular basis.

This little learning station is adorbs.
Harper will have one like it in our new house, no battle.

These are even cuter and more awesome than the sushi sandwiches.

This little delight is our project this week.
Isn't it cute?
(I am not a crafter and never will be but I do like Harper projects.)

I don't pin clothing/shoes for Harper very often.
Lord knows I already spend enough time/money on Harper's wardrobe.
Besides, all she ever wants to wear is a pink tutu so really, what would be the point?

On that same note, Harper grew out of several more pairs of shoes this week.
I sadly said goodbye to her shiny pink ballet flats, her TOMS, and her pink Uggs.
Why is it still so hard for me to pack away her shoes?
You'd think I'd be used to it by now.

P.S. Read this. It's beautiful.
