Busy Week...

Happy Birthday, Colt! He turned 25 yesterday. He had to work until 2:00 and I felt terrible but he was a good sport about it. After he got home, we went to dinner with his family. It wasn't the most fun of days but we have all of next weekend to celebrate.

Harper crawled for the first time last week. It was such an exciting moment. I was crying and laughing at the same time. Now that she is mobile, she is a little tornado of destruction and I absolutely love watching her make mess after mess. This morning she has pulled books from her shelf, played in the blinds, pulled on the cable cord, dumped a giant bin of plastic food over, and spilled Hazel's water bowl. Not once has she so much as looked at the basket of toys I put in the middle of the floor! She is too busy to play, I guess.

Harper has not one, but TWO, teeth now! Both of her bottom teeth poked through within a week. On Sunday, May 16th, I was giving Harper a little taste of a fruit snack and something scraped my finger. Sure enough, it was her right bottom tooth. Don't worry... I cried over that too. I discovered the second one on Saturday morning.

Mobile Pics Part 2

If she were ten, I'd say this was gross but at this point, it's a good sign that she is exploring her body and developing properly... and it's ADORABLE!
OH WOW! It doesn't get more embarrassing than no sheets and a naked, runny-nosed baby playing with a Tylenol bottle. There is an explanation. This was the day that we moved, which explains the bare mattress. Things were crazy for me as I was trying to pack everything and care for Harper. I'd given her some Tylenol because she was sick with a little cold. I left the bottle on the bed and came back to find her using it as a binky! Our funny girl is always good for a laugh! I still giggle every time I see this pic!
I just love this baby.
This also has a explanation. We were at Theo's and Harper had something of a messy day. Let's just say that I took two outfits and a pair of jammies home to the wash. By mid-afternoon, Harper was out of extra clothing to wear so I raided Theo's drawers and found an old Cars t-shirt. I'm pretty sure Harper looks cuter in this than any of the dozens of outfits in her closet. Her dad thinks so, too. He even lets her wear it when guests come over.
Dress up!

Mobile Pics

Some of the most noteworthy pics I take of Harper are on my phone. Today I uploaded them to the computer and must post a few on here. Most of the photos have a story behind them and don't worry, I'll include them all just so that nobody goes questioning my suitability as a parent... I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

When your hair looks like this, you either had a really great day or a terrible one. This was a great, albeit busy, day for us. We had a long day at Theo's house (aka work with mom), a visit to the Adams residence, and the first softball game of the season. One can only guess what followed this evening snack. That's right: bedtime.
Good morning, Harper!
Just out of the bath!
I want all of you to know that I picked Harper up immediately after taking this picture. I absolutely hate to hear her cry but couldn't resist snapping a photo of her frustration over not being able to crawl. She is desperate to move around on her own. She can push up to hands and knees but has not yet figured out how to get going from there. After flopping down a few times and getting nowhere, she pulls this face and cries until I pick her up.
If you were teething, you'd want a frozen whole wheat ego waffle to suck on too.
